Day 47: Mount Isa to Richmond

Got up this morning and went to the toilet - guess what I found:

I've also put a photo in from last night showing these Geckos which are pretty much at every camp kitchen in the caravan parks.

Today we headed for Richmond which is now famous for it's dinosaur fossil exhibition. The whole area was 40m under an inland sea when Australia was part of the super continent Gondwana. Local farmers have been discovering new species around the area as each wet season potentially exposes fresh ground. The most famous is the Kronosaurus which grew up to 11m.

The afternoon we got there there wasn't quite enough time to do the fossil exhibition (we'd do that tomorrow), but we did venture out to the fossil grounds to do some looking for ourselves.

  1. What a fantastic opportunity for you all as a family, I hope that you put all this on "snap fish" when you get back and turn it into book. Wish I could be doing the same, but a little busy right now. Hope you are all well. Love Auntie Trish.
