Heading back south now to the intersection of the 'Overlander's Way' and The Stuart Highway. On the way out from the pub we stopped to check out the old Daly Waters airstrip which had been used for both passenger and military operations during the war.
We arrived at Three Ways mid afternoon and set up camp in the caravan park at the back of the roadhouse. Only thing was the diesel filling point for road trains and buses was also at the back of the road house. It wasn't long before Richie got fairly excited when 5 three trailer road trains loaded with cattle all pulled together (what a smell).
We also met some new friends at Three Ways; Warren, Amanda, Hamish, Ayden, Phoebe and Rohan (I hope I got all those spelings correct). The kids loved the fact we found some travellers the same age and hit it off immediately. As time would tell we would travel together for next 5 days.
