We were a family on the go, there was a lot to do today. First things first, the kids wanted to see 'The Rock' in daylight. Stocked up with plenty of food and drinks we started our day's adventure.
There was alot of talk in the car regarding climbing Ayers Rock. The kids wanted in but we said no, it was too dangerous ( It has been reported that a least 38 people have lost their lives climbing it.) After a number of "that's unfair, please and but mum dad", we all agreed that we would climb the first 10 metres together and then dad would continue by himself.
Ayers Rock takes about 2 hours to climb so the kids sat and watched Richard climb until we could not see him any more and then headed to the car. We drove around the base of the rock and then visited the cultural centre.
After a short lunch break we drove back out to the Olgas (or Kata Tjuta as the idigenous folk like to call it). We walked up the Walpa Gorge and checked out various view points.
Then it was back to the rock to watch the sunset cause the rock to change colours many times over. It was quite a sight.
